Taste of Snickers Shake recipe – a feel-good take on a classic!

Just because you want to treat your body a little better, that doesn’t mean that you can’t still have some of the flavours of some of your old favourites. We have a soft spot for some of the older-school chocolate bars, and we’re thrilled to be able to bring to life a recipe for a healthy version of one we really like!

Chocoholics, unite!

The humble Snickers bar is a bit of a favourite not only because of the blend of flavours, but also the textures of the different elements of nuts, nougat, caramel and chocolate. The great thing is that all of these elements also sounds like a good formula for a flavourful shake.

But only if that could be made healthy…and that’s where we have good news for you!

By weaving in some healthy elements into the recipe to bring along some of the key flavour profiles, you too can have your shake and drink it!

The inspiration for this recipe comes from a number of places, and we first come across it after a rather-intense HIIT session at 1rebel, but this particular mix of ingredients is one we have put together ourselves and we’re pretty happy with it, and we hope you will be, too!

With the ingredients, most of this stuff is reasonably common and can be found in your local supermarket. For our protein powder element of the recipe, we use Innermost chocolate-flavoured whey protein, but you can test with your preferred option. Using chocolate protein powder also brings the chocolate element to the recipe without having to dig around for another ingredient.

Ingredients for this recipe

  • 300mL unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 scoop chocolate protein powder
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1.5 cups ice


  1. Combine all of the ingredients in a blender (we use the smaller Nutribullet cup)
  2. Blend for a minute or two, or until all the ice cubes are blended through

Pour into a glass to serve, or into a travel flask to go!

Quick, tasty and easy! It may taste guilty, but it can be (reasonably) good for you and will keep you satisfied while your body continues to burn calories post-workout.
